This Privacy Policy includes the service conditions and privacy terms of use of the Share service.
Share is a file-sharing service that allows user to share encrypted files of a size of 50MB or less with each other through an online interface based on Up1. Files are encrypted before they reach the server, and encryption keys are shared through javascript codes between origin and destination of file. The service requires no log-in and files are identified through unique URLs. Share is provided by the non-profit 5th of July Foundation in Sweden (official homepage: https://5july.org).

1. Overview/About us
Share is a web service which implements the Up1 framework to make it possible to upload encrypted blobs on to the 5th of July Foundation servers and share their location with others. Anyone with a valid Share URL can download and decrypt the uploaded material. A Share URL stays valid for 12 hours. Any encrypted blobs are removed from the 5th of July Foundation servers after the URL validity period has lapsed.
Any connections between the Share user and the 5th of July Foundation servers are encrypted.
2. Applicable legislation (GDPR)
Any processing of personal data within the context of Sharebox falls under the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union as far as 5th of July Foundation is concerned.
3. Which information does Share collect?
The IP address of a user of Share services is available for 5th of July Foundation. The Up1 framework also collects HTTP referer [sic] information. To render the website we collect instantaneous information about browser fingerprints, such as screen resolution and browser version. Any personal data contained in a file uploaded and shared through the Share service is encrypted in the client-side browser and available only when the file is again decrypted in a client-side browser. 5th of July Foundation commits to maintain server-side security and integrity of client-side key generation other than as required by law.
4. Which legal rights do I have?
Share users have the following legal rights:
- Correction, amendments and deletion of data: any technical information collected by the Share service (such as IP address, referer header, etc.) persists only for the duration of the visit to the website. Any uploaded files are deleted after 12 hours along with the uniquely generated URL. Data can always be deleted through the unique URL at any time, even before 12 hours have passed.
- Access to the data: uploaded data is available to the public through the automatically generated URL for a duration of at most 12 hours.
- Disclosure of data: uploaded data is disclosed through the uniquely generated URL.
- Transfer of personal data to third countries: we do not undertake any action to have the data transferred to third countries. All data is processed in Sweden. A uniquely generated URL may be shared with an entity in a third country by the Share user, but the 5th of July Foundation will not undertake any action to perform such sharing.
